And here we are, with the converse of my last post; the Top Six Best Hero Songs!
While Villain Songs are usually my favorites, there are some pretty great hero songs as well. The following is a list of my favorite hero songs from various musicals and movies.
* * *
#1: Out There
Movie: The Hunchack of Notre Dame
Hero: Quasimodo
Notes: I love the chord progressions in this song. Not to mention it's in my range for the most part, so I can sing right along with Quasi and Frollo. (Well, an octave above Frollo, technically.)
#2: Lothlorien
Musical: The Lord of the Rings
Character: Legolas/Galadriel
Notes: I don't know how many of you LOTR junkies know that there was actually a musical made for The Lord of the Rings, but there was. Now before you think, Oh no! Just what we needed- dancing orcs!, let me say that it actually seems pretty good. Very different from the movies, but good. It has three parts, one part for each book. This is my favorite song from it- unfortunately I could not get the full version. Thus the Lothlorien you see is the abridges song.
#3: Let My People Go
Movie: The Prince of Egypt
Character(s): Moses/Rameses
Notes: This is a unique combination of a Hero/Villain song. It's pretty epic. And it's a Bible Story. XD
#4: All I Ever Wanted
Movie: Prince of Egypt
Hero: Moses
#5: The Wizard and I
Musical: Wicked
Hero: Elphaba
Notes: It's not often that a character sings both the Hero Songs and the Villain Song. But Elphaba pulls it off! :)
#6: Little Town
Movie: Beauty and the Beast
Heroine: Belle
Notes: Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie, with The Hunchback being a close second. Belle reminds me of myself a lot. :)

The Prince of Egypt is one of my favorites. I live those songs.

I'm with you on that one. The Prince of Egypt is a great movie with incredible music.
DeleteThat Lothlorien song was nice, but a bit odd. I'm not sure if I'd actually want to see a musical LOTR or not. But I love "Little Town"- Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite Disney movies. And I haven't seen Prince of Egypt since I was little, but "Let My People" go was awesome.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too, at first, but after a while the show kind of grew on me. I've never actually seen it, but I've seen clips. It's pretty cool. :)
DeletePrince of Egypt is among some of my most favorite movies, as is Beauty and the Beast.
I love Prince of Egypt! And both songs you picked from it are epic! :D As for Lord of the Rings, all I'm going to say is that Legolas is a lot better-looking in the movies. :P
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on Legolas. But I love this actor's voice! It's absolutely beautiful. :D
DeleteOkay, I'll agree. He does have a nice voice. :)
DeleteUm... I guess I wouldn't mind watching a LotR musical TOO much. :P And I don't like musicals that much. But it's interesting to listen too.
ReplyDeleteI never cared much for the music in the Hunchback of Notre Dame, but I love the music on Prince of Egypt. The stuff on Beauty and the Beast wasn't bad either, but I don't think I'd be able to watch a LOTR musical. :D
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I just nominated you for the Liebster award. :)

Thanks! I'll make it the subject of tomorrow's post. :D
DeleteWow! I love "Let My People Go" (The Plagues) and "Lothlorien," too! :-D And... YAY! SOMEONE ELSE WHO LOVES PRINCE OF EGYPT AND THE LOTR MUSICAL!!!!! :-D :-D :-D
ReplyDelete*GASP* You like the LOTR Musical too? I thought I was the only one!!! XD It seemed strange at first, but now it's my goal to get to a place where I can see it.
DeleteAnd the Prince of Egypt, in my opinion, is the greatest animated film ever made. ^_^
